Department of Transportation (DOT) Physicals

DOT Physicals are comprehensive exam given to truck drivers to ensure they can safely operate commercial vehicle.

The exam requires drivers to bring an updated list of medications long with name of prescribing doctor and what the medication is for.

Expect to discuss health history and ongoing treatments

Take vitals, check vision, hearing, urinalysis, physical exam, reflexes and gait

Addition paperwork must be brought for drivers with hypertension, diabetes, sleeping disorders, and heart or respiratory conditions to follow DOT guidelines

As Medical Examiner we must check to make sure the driver does not have any signs of epilepsy or seizure disorders, alcoholism, drug abuse, and any psychiatric disorders
