Department of Transportation (DOT) Physicals

DOT Physicals are comprehensive exam given to truck drivers to ensure they can safely operate commercial vehicle. 

  • The exam requires drivers to bring an updated list of medications long with name of prescribing doctor and what the medication is for.

  • Expect to discuss health history and ongoing treatments​

  • Take vitals, check vision, hearing, urinalysis, physical exam, reflexes and gait

  • Addition paperwork must be brought for drivers with hypertension, diabetes, sleeping disorders, and heart or respiratory conditions to follow DOT guidelines

  • As Medical Examiner we must check to make sure the driver does not have any signs of epilepsy or seizure disorders, alcoholism, drug abuse, and any psychiatric disorders
